Siempre he dicho que, al margen de cualquier ideología o creencia,
estoy enfáticamente en contra de los totalitarismos, ese engendro político en forma
de régimen o de ideología donde el poder es ejercido de manera autoritaria por una
sola persona o un grupo no necesariamente mayoritario, controlando todos los
aspectos de la vida del estado y de los que en el viven. Son sistemas de pensamiento retorcido donde
el individuo carece de valor y lo importante es la nación como en la Alemania
nazi o la revolución como en el estalinismo ruso o el islam para el integrismo
islámico. Hasta la propia Revolución Francesa sucumbió a la tentación totalitaria
utilizando el pretexto de la libertad y la república para imponer su mantra
desde la interpretación sesgada de sus líderes que terminó en excesos y justificación
de la violencia.
Los últimos 100 años de nuestra historia han sido pródigos en desastres
cometidos por totalitarismos amparados en sus grandes conceptos: revolución,
raza, religión y patria donde el individuo es educado y convertido en una
víctima facilitadora de ese mismo proceso.
Y es que, más allá del fenómeno político
hay un fenómeno psicosocial que se le añade: el pensamiento totalitario. Lo que
comienza con el seguimiento de un discurso atractivo porque externaliza la
culpa y las responsabilidades (soy pobre porque los ricos me explotan o no
tengo trabajo porque los inmigrantes me lo quitan) se convierte en un
gregarismo sin critica que disuelve al individuo en una tribu censuradora e
intolerante.
El nuevo Flautista de Hamelin puede ser un dirigente político de la ultraderecha
como Abascal en España, un gobernante de izquierdas corrupto como Daniel Ortega
en Nicaragua o un ¨influencer¨ en las redes sociales como el llamado Otaola
miamense. La música de turno son ideas aparentemente
bienintencionadas en el contexto de un código moral supuestamente superior (la
raza pura, América grande otra vez, el exilio cubano patriota). Y es ese código
el que hace censurar lo inconveniente para esa nueva tribu, sin ningún tipo de
respeto hacia el que no coincide con su criterio.
Así, al pensar totalitario, el
sujeto sufre de una disonancia cognitiva que actúa como un bloqueo a la realidad
justificando sus formas represivas y cualquier acto o consecuencias que se
deriven de ello. Fue lo que la judía alemana Hannah Arendt llamó con acierto ¨la
banalidad del mal¨, esa irreflexión de quien cometía
crímenes baja la ideología nazi y que hoy vemos en el representante de VOX que
bendice los tiros de un criminal acosador que dejaron en una silla de ruedas a la
hermana de la víctima.
Aupados por el populismo y la demagogia, el pensamiento totalitario
cotiza alto en el mercado identitario de los tontos útiles, imperando sobre el
pensamiento racional y el sentido común y pisoteando los derechos ajenos sin
detenerse en la coacción y la violencia para obtener sus objetivos. En aras del
pensamiento totalitario se pide en Ohio que reimplanten un embarazo ectópico en
el útero femenino sin tener en cuenta que es medicamente imposible. O se vocifera
en Madrid que los hombres son las victimas y no las mujeres a pesar de las estadísticas
y hechos contundentes que prueban lo contrario.
O se retira el libro La Caperucita Roja en Barcelona por considerarlo
sexista. O se prohíbe en Hungría el concurso Eurovisión porque es del gusto de
homosexuales mientras el país está la cabeza de la producción de películas porno
para gais e Europa. O un sujeto
despechado porque ya no puede hacer turismo de sexo en Cuba, arremete contra
las remesas que los cubanos envían a sus familiares para paliar el hambre. O se
minimiza la corrupción de gobernantes de acuerdo con la ideología que mejor
convenga, llámese Trump o Evo Morales.
El pensamiento totalitario es la antítesis del pensamiento independiente,
ese que nos obliga a pensar por nosotros mismos. Es la consagración de una
idea, de un principio con exclusión de todo lo que se le oponga. Es la exaltación
máxima de esa enfermedad moral que es el fanatismo del idiota que prefiere
quemar el bosque en una perversión de lo que cree que es el bien común.
En algún sitio leí que la organización de los hormigueros obedece al principio
del pensamiento totalitario. Si se prende fuego en el hormiguero, todas las
hormigas se dirigirán hacia él hasta apagarlo con sus cuerpos. Mueren sin
pensar por el bien de la comunidad. La hormiga actúa como una célula anónima de
un cuerpo mayor que es el hormiguero. Lo importante es el hormiguero, no la
hormiga.

Totalitarian Praise of the Ant
I have
always said that, apart from any ideology or belief, I am emphatically against
totalitarianism, that political spawn in the form of a regime or ideology where
power is exercised in an authoritarian way by a single person or a group controlling
all aspects of the life of the state and those who live in it. They are systems of twisted thinking where
the individual lacks value and what is important is the nation as in Nazi
Germany or the revolution as in Russian Stalinism or Islam for Islamic integrism.
Even the French Revolution itself succumbed to the totalitarian temptation by
using the pretext of freedom and republic to impose its mantra from the skewed
interpretation of its leaders that ended in excess and justification of
violence.
The last 100 years of our history have been
lavish in disasters committed by totalitarianisms covered in their great
concepts: revolution, race, religion and homeland, where the individual is
educated and become a victim who facilitates that same process.
Beyond
the political phenomenon there is a psychosocial phenomenon that is added to
it: totalitarian thinking. What begins with following an attractive speech
because it outsources guilt and responsibilities (I am poor because the rich
exploit me or I don't have a job because immigrants take it away from me)
becomes an uncritical gregariousness that dissolves the individual in a
censoring and bigoted tribe.
The new Hamelin's Flautist may be a far-right
political leader like Abascal in Spain, a corrupt left-wing ruler like Daniel
Ortega in Nicaragua or a social media influencer like the so-called Otaola in
Miami. The music is comprised by
seemingly well-intentioned ideas in the context of a supposedly superior moral
code (a pure race, America great again, the Cuban patriotic exile). And it is
that code the one which censors the inconvenience for that new tribe, without
any respect towards those who do not match its judgment.
Thus, in totalitarian thinking, the subject
suffers from a cognitive dissonance that acts as a blockage to reality
justifying its repressive forms and any act or consequences that arise from it.
It was what the German Jew Hannah Arendt rightly called the ¨banality of evil¨,
that I lack of reflection of the one who committed crimes under the Nazi
ideology and that today, we see in the
representative of VOX who blesses the shootings of a stalking criminal who left
in a wheelchair to the sister of his victim.
Encouraged by populism and demagoguery, the totalitarian
thinking ranks high in the identity market of useful fools, prevailing over
rational thinking and common sense and trampling on other people's rights
without stopping in coercion and violence to achieve their goals. For the sake
of totalitarian thought, Ohio is asking to re-implant an ectopic pregnancy in
the female uterus without taking into account that it is medically impossible.
Or in Madrid we heard screams that men are the victims and not women, despite
the statistics and facts that prove otherwise.
Or the book Little Red Hood is withdrawn in Barcelona as sexist. Or the
Eurovision contest is banned in Hungary because it appeals to the taste of
homosexuals while the country is the head of the production of gay porn movies
in Europe Or a scorned guy who can no
longer do sex tourism in Cuba, lashes out at remittances that Cubans send to
their relatives to alleviate hunger. Or you minimize the corruption of rulers
according to the ideology that best suits you, being Trump or Evo Morales.
Totalitarian thinking is the antithesis
of independent thought, the one that forces us to think for ourselves. It is
the consecration of an idea, of a principle to the exclusion of all that is
opposed to it. It is the ultimate exaltation of that moral disease that is the
fanaticism of the idiot who prefers to burn the forest in a perversion of what
he believes is the common good.
Somewhere I read that the organization of the
anthills follows the principle of totalitarian thought. If the anthill is set
on fire, all the ants will be directed towards it until it is extinguished with
their bodies. They die without thinking for the good of the community. The ant
acts as an anonymous cell of a larger body that is the anthill. The important
thing is the anthill, not the ant.
